A fair six-sided die is rolled twice. What is the probability of getting 1 on the first roll and not getting 6 on the second roll?

  1. Probability of getting one , P(1)=1/6
    Probability of not getting six, P(not 6)=5/6
    The required probability= P(1) * P(not 6)= 5/36

  2. Probability of getting one =1/6
    Probability of not getting six =5/6
    Since both are independent the required probability will be =1/6*5/6 =5/36
