What are statistics, under what circumstances they go out of date, how do you update them?

    Statistics are something which provide you certain measures on the basis of the data you have.
    They can help to summarize your data.
    Statistics will go out of date when additional data has been added and statistics haven’t been calculated
    over time.
    SQL Server has a logic of updating statistics (when autoupdate is ON). If the table has more than 500 rows the statistics are updated when there are 500+ 20% of the table rows are updated.

    Statistics are basically mathematical measures that describe and summarizes an event or series of events

    Statistics go hand in hand with data collection. If your data collection is excellent, you’ll be getting great statistics and if not the statistics measures won’t be much of use and at certain times, these measures can be biased and will tell an entirely different story

    Again updating statistics meaning you should be updating in collecting accurate data if your ingesting quality data, statistics will be updated time to time basis
