Can you cite some examples where both false positive and false negatives are equally important?

  1. I would say that in most of the cases False Negatives are as important as False Positives.

    This can be understood with one example. Consider somebody is being tested positive for Cancer. If that person actually have Cancer but was falsely diagnosed as a non-cancer then the condition will continue to grow and he will be ill . This False Negative at a later instance may reduce the chances of recovery due to an increase in the severity.

    Similarly, if the person is not suffering from Cancer but diagnosed as Cancer then again the Cancer medication may cause irreparable effects in the mind and body of that person.
